Old-Time Breads Recipes - Chocolate Chip and Molasses Oatmeal

After a couple of small metal bread recipes from my late mother's recipe box. They are great recipes, especially for those who like to cook, "the old way" way. The Chocolate Chip Bread is a favorite of kids and perfect for their lunch boxes. The Molasses Oatmeal Bread is a great bread for those who seek a healthier diet are to eat.

MOLASSESOATMEAL BREAD

1 / 2 cup brown sugar
1 / 2 cup raisins
3 tsp salt
2 pkgs dry yeast in 1 / 2 cup warm water
5 cups flour
6 to 7 cups flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine oatmeal and boiling water Let stand and cool to 1 hour. Add next 7 ingredients, mix well and let rise. Add remaining flour and knead well. Let rise again, in the form of loaves and let rise until light. Bakeat 350 degrees about 45 minutes. Makes 3 large or 4 medium loaves. This bread freezes well. Can also roles.

Because this bread and cold, it's a good idea to make a few loaves of bread and use the remaining dough to make rolls. Put rolls in the freezer and are available for unanticipated needs or if you are in a hurry.

Enjoy!
